Our founder’s journey from frustrating trade-offs to a smarter, simpler approach to natural protection.
The Trade-Offs I Was Sick Of
I’m guessing your story is a lot like mine. You want to protect your pet from fleas and ticks, but you are less than enthusiastic about the choices currently on the market.
I founded FurSentry because I was fundamentally done with the standard compromises of monthly parasite defense.
- The Greasy Mess: Spot-on chemical drops turned into an impossibly messy monthly ritual with my dog, Peggy. For days after applying them, I couldn’t pet her without oily chemical residue getting on my hands, clothes, and furniture.
- The Systemic Compromise: Oral chewable tablets are common, but the concept never sat right with me. Forcing Peggy to swallow a pesticide so a bug has to bite and drink her blood before dying felt like the wrong goal.
It felt like the industry only offered chemical convenience at the expense of our pets' everyday comfort. There had to be a way to keep pests away without messy coats or swallowed chemicals.
Rethinking Protection: The Scent Shield
Our solution came from rethinking how bugs actually find our pets. Instead of waiting for a bug to land and bite, why not make your dog invisible to them in the first place?
How Pests Hunt: Fleas and ticks have terrible eyesight. They hunt almost entirely by scent, tracking your dog's warmth, breath, and natural odors like a beacon.
Traditional treatments wait until the bug follows that scent trail, lands on your dog, and takes a bite. FurSentry works in the air around your dog, masking that scent trail so fleas and ticks never lock on.
Plant-Powered Defense
Nature has spent millions of years developing natural insect deterrents. We selected specific plant oils known for their proven ability to confuse and repel pests:
